Gas Safe Register, the official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to work on gas, are the event organisers, and aim to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of gas appliances through this annual event.
Sentinel are committed to gas safety across the industry, and are an Associate Member of the Association of Gas Safety Managers (AGSM). We reinforce this position by supporting our Technical Manager Ella Cooper in the successful renewal of her ACS qualifications, which allow Sentinel Performance Solutions and Ella to be on the Gas Safe Register.
Gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning can be caused by badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances. Thousands of people across the UK are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning each year. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly with no warning, as you cannot see it, taste it or smell it.
All landlords are legally responsible for the safety of their tenants and therefore must make sure maintenance and annual safety checks on gas appliances are carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
