The UK Government has set national targets for reducing CO2 emissions and eradicating fuel poverty. So it’s great that our products help people save energy. Smaller heating bills mean lower CO2 emissions, which helps to slow down climate change.
Our products protect boiler heat exchangers from scale build-up, making the system more efficient.
Once a system has been cleaned with Sentinel, the radiators will deliver more uniform heat throughout the property, so the boiler doesn’t have to work as hard to keep the house warm.
With X500 Inhibited Antifreeze there’s no need to run the heating to stop it freezing up in cold weather. So why not disable the frost settings and make another saving on those heating bills?
20% of newly installed boilers have a service visit within the first 24 months. But by protecting with Sentinel, everyone can relax – it’s prolonging the life of the heating system, so those maintenance vans stay in the car park, not on the road.
Sentinel products help heating installers to meet essential legal obligations, such as:
Part L states that provision should be made for the conservation of fuel in buildings by providing heating systems which are energy efficient and commissioned to ensure they use no more fuel than necessary.
When commissioning new or repaired heating systems, the system should be cleaned and flushed to remove debris and residues before a new boiler is installed. A chemical water treatment should be added to the system to reduce corrosion and the formation of limescale and sludge. Where mains hard water exceeds 200 ppm, the feed water to water heaters and boilers needs to be treated to prevent limescale formation.
All Sentinel products are safe to use without the need for specialist protective equipment and can be safely flushed down domestic drains.
PAS 2030 is designed to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings and sets the specification for the installation process, process management and service provision of energy efficiency measures.
Our how-to videos are on hand to demonstrate how to stay compliant.
Our renewables range protects solar thermal systems from corrosion, frost and the effects of glycol degradation, and air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps from the damaging effects of frost, corrosion and bacteria. Systems using Sentinel continue to generate high outputs of clean energy, year after year.
Much of our product packaging is easily recyclable through local schemes.

Sentinel is a company with a clear goal: we offer water treatment products and services that provide the best lifetime protection for heating and hot water systems. Originally launched in the UK by Grace Dearborn in 1988 and subsequently a subsidiary of the leading multinational General Electric, Sentinel has operated independently since 2005, expanding its international reach and range of innovative solutions. As of 2021, Sentinel is owned by Aalberts N.V., and sits in the hydronic flow control cluster.
